Sansec is an eCommerce security company that protects online merchants against malware, vulnerabilities and payment card skimming (Magecart, web skimming). Since 2015 it has tracked how attackers steal payment data from online stores, reverse-engineers malware and publishes its research. Its products include eComscan, a server-side malware and vulnerability scanner for platforms such as Magento, Adobe Commerce, Shopware, WooCommerce, OpenCart and PrestaShop; Sansec Shield, a Magento-specific web application firewall; and the Sansec Security Monitor, a crawler that alerts merchants to malicious code on their sites. Sansec also offers forensic investigation, root cause analysis and cleanup services for compromised stores, and provides licensing for agencies, hosting providers (ISPs) and payment service providers. It runs the Sansec Early Breach Detection Network, which scans large numbers of websites, and was selected by Google's VirusTotal as an approved security vendor. The company is headquartered in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
