FarmGen

FarmGen is a dairy industry service provider based in Kilkenny, Ireland selling engineering & services, automation & controls.

FarmGen is a solar PV programme for Irish farmers, run by the farmer-owned co-operatives Tirlán and Dairygold in partnership with solar installer PV Generation. Launched in 2019, it offers turnkey, bespoke rooftop solar PV systems for farms, including dairy farms, to power energy-intensive milking parlour processes such as milk cooling, vacuum pumps and water heating. The programme handles grant applications, including TAMS and SEAI schemes, and offers 100% financing through Finance Ireland's FundEquip scheme. PV Generation designs and installs the systems, and each system includes real-time energy monitoring. Farm families across 13 counties have participated. Installations by partner PV Generation are reported at over 4,000 systems. FarmGen forms part of Tirlán's Sustainable Action Payment programme. The FarmGen.ie website is owned by Tirlán Limited.
