Its Genocells service provides individual cow somatic cell count estimates from bulk tank samples, and its FarmOps app supports farm task planning. The company is 100% farmer owned through its co-op shareholders. Its roots trace back to Dr. J.J. R. Nagle, who pioneered artificial insemination in Ireland in the 1940s. Its base is in Ballyvorisheen, Mallow, Co. Cork. The National Cattle Breeding Centre, a joint venture with Progressive Genetics established in 2005, runs its studs and breeding programmes, and Ireland Genetics, its wholly owned international division, distributes semen abroad.
