Tirlán Ingredients is the ingredients arm of Tirlán, an Irish farmer-owned dairy and nutrition business with roots in co-operative farming. It produces dairy and plant-based ingredients, including milk powders, caseins, butterfats, cheese, whey and milk protein products, along with oat-based ingredients from a dedicated oat mill in Portlaoise. The Ballyragget plant is described as the largest multi-purpose integrated dairy plant in Europe, processing over one billion litres of milk annually. Other sites are located in Wexford, Belview and Ireland's Kilkenny region, with sales offices in Dubai, Shanghai and Chicago. The company states that it exports to more than 100 countries and supplies food and beverage manufacturers across infant nutrition, ice cream, yoghurt, cheese, bakery and sports nutrition. It reports holding ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certifications and BRC accreditation at its oat mill, and it runs a sustainability programme focused on lower emissions, waste reduction and traceable grass-based milk supply.
