Aviation & Missile Solutions (AMS) is a Huntsville, Alabama engineering services and hardware prototyping company focused on air and missile defense. It was founded in 1999 as a joint venture of two local defense contractors to support the U.S. Army AMCOM EXPRESS contract. AMS was a wholly owned subsidiary of an Huntsville-based aerospace and defense contractor from 2017 until its divestiture after 2020, when a group of investors and executives acquired the company. In July 2024 it became an employee stock ownership plan company. AMS supports the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) program office and provides radar and missile seeker expertise, including active array technologies, signal processing, electronic protection algorithms, hardware-in-the-loop systems, command and control, RF datalinks, and test and evaluation support. Its Intel & Spectrum Dominance Department produces threat characterizations and high-fidelity threat models for DoD test and training. The company supported a PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement flight test in 2025 and reports nearly 250 employees. Its parent company, Aviation & Missile Holdings, Inc., is incorporated in Delaware.
