BMW is a German automotive manufacturer whose Special Sales business develops and supplies armoured Protection Vehicles and Authority Vehicles. The protection range includes the BMW 7 Protection, the BMW X5 Protection VR6 and the BMW i7 Protection, offered in combustion and fully electric variants. Protection vehicles are built on series models, with armour integrated into the body and tested to VPAM ballistic and explosion criteria by the Beschussamt München. Authority Vehicles serve police, fire-fighting, ambulance and government users, with signal equipment, emergency lighting and electrical provisions for retrofitting. Special Sales also runs programmes for diplomats and international organisations, and a military sales programme for U.S. service personnel stationed overseas. Armoured vehicles are serviceable by BMW Service Partners, with specially trained partners for security-vehicle specifics.
