About
Founded in 1945, CEA is a defense system integrator based in Grenoble, France working in weapons, naval systems, counter-uas & air defense +1 more.
CEA is a French public research organisation created in 1945 to develop applications of atomic science. It works across four main areas: low-carbon energy, digital technology, technologies for future medicine, and defence and security. Its defence activities are carried out largely through the Direction des applications militaires, with centres such as Valduc, Cesta, Gramat and the DAM Île-de-France site. Its defence work covers the design and integration of nuclear warhead architecture for the French deterrent force, manufacture and maintenance of nuclear sub-assemblies, reactors and cores for submarine and aircraft carrier propulsion, radiographic and hydrodynamic testing (Epure), the Laser Mégajoule simulation programme, expertise in the vulnerability of weapon systems to nuclear and conventional effects, and counter-drone expertise. The organisation also conducts civil research on nuclear and renewable energy, microelectronics, health and climate, and transfers technology to industry. Its Direction de la recherche fondamentale employs more than 6,000 researchers across several sites.
