CONDOR S.A. is a Romanian manufacturer of parachutes and flight equipment, headquartered in Bucharest. The company traces its origins to 1930, when it was established to build aerostats and repair parachutes. During the Second World War it supplied equipment to the Romanian air force and produced parachutes under licence from Irvin of the United Kingdom. It was nationalised in 1948, and the current company was formed in 1990 by taking over the assets of the former Bucharest parachute and flight equipment enterprise. Its product range covers military parachutes (main, reserve, rescue, cargo, braking and recovery types), aircraft braking systems such as the SPF-100 and SPF-250, parachutes for illumination projectiles, and military and civil garments including uniforms, flight suits and anti-ballistic vests. CONDOR also produces special equipment to customer specification and has supplied export markets including the United Kingdom, Germany, India and Italy. Its quality system is certified to ISO 9001 by AEROQ and to AQAP 2110 by the Romanian Ministry of National Defence's Armaments Department. The company has its own research and design department and a production area of about 7,154 m².
