Dunarit Corp. is a Bulgarian manufacturer of defence and engineering products founded in 1903 as a private gunpowder factory. It was nationalised in 1947 as the State Factory Dunarit, became part of the state industrial group Metalchim, and was privatised and incorporated as a shareholding company in 2005. The company designs, manufactures and demilitarises aerial, artillery and engineer munitions, commercial explosives and related items. It also holds Bulgarian licences for production, trade, export and import of defence-related products. Civil products include plastic moulded parts and tooling, dental laboratory equipment, railroad maintenance machines and LPG motor systems. Its facility for thermal disposal of cap primers, detonators, fuzes and munitions up to 30 mm calibre is described as unique in Bulgaria and South-East Europe. The company states it exports to more than 60 countries on five continents. Its quality management system is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001, and meets AQAP 2110.
