Its Defence & Security division designs, manufactures and markets products and services for armed forces and law enforcement agencies, primarily under the FN brand, with factories in Belgium, the United States, the United Kingdom and Finland. Its portfolio includes small arms, machine guns, integrated weapon systems such as the FN DEFNDER remote weapon station, military ammunition and less-lethal launchers. The group's Hunting & Sports Shooting division produces firearms and ammunition under the Browning and Winchester brands, with operations in several countries. The group also includes Noptel, an optoelectronics company specialising in laser distance measurement, and FNX Ventures, an investment fund for start-ups. The group is owned by Wallonie Entreprendre, which is owned by the Walloon Region. It states that its Defence & Security division invests around 10% of its revenues in R&D.
