FORCIT Defence is the defence business of the Finnish FORCIT Group, headquartered in Hanko, Finland. The company develops and manufactures insensitive munitions, plastic bonded explosives and naval and land Anti-Access and Area Denial systems, including influence sea mines, coastal mines, anti-tank mine systems and anti-armour charges. Its core capabilities cover area denial, anti-infantry, counter mobility and anti-submarine and anti-surface vessel operations. It operates as a prime contractor for its own systems and as a partner to other international system providers, offering product design, explosives filling, assembly and packaging services. The company states it has developed explosive technologies since the 1980s and holds the second largest capacity for cast cured plastic bonded explosives in Europe. Most advanced defence systems serve export markets. The group is building an electronics assembly plant in Meriniitty, Salo, intended to be fully operational by 2029, to strengthen production and security of supply for high-tech defence components.
