Founded in 2015, Kappazeta is a defense software developer based in Tartu, Estonia working in c4isr, defense software & ai.

Kappazeta is an Estonian Earth observation company that uses satellite radar (SAR), optical data and machine learning to deliver land monitoring analytics. Its core business covers agriculture (crop monitoring, grassland mowing and grazing detection for subsidy checks, crop insurance), forestry and carbon projects (forest height, biomass and carbon stock estimation, disturbance monitoring) and cloud masking for Sentinel-2. The company also develops situational awareness products for defence and security, including landscape trafficability estimates for military unit logistics and clear-cut detection as an indicator of military activity. Kappazeta joined the Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association and is developing a 3D-SAR satellite mission to make Sentinel-1 data three-dimensional. It works with public agencies, the European Space Agency and research partners such as Tartu Observatory and the University of Tartu.
