Magellium Artal Group is a French engineering company, described as an intermediate-sized enterprise (ETI) with around 300 engineers and doctors, active in image processing, Earth observation, space surveillance, geographic data, artificial intelligence, robotics, and software engineering. Its activities span space, defence, security, transport, energy and environment. In defence, it develops real-time video processing and hardware for military airborne intelligence, the ARGO 360 optical surveillance gimbal for mini-UAVs, and the Nano Mapper nano-drone mapping system. Its technologies were initially developed for the French army and are now also used by civilian security forces. It runs a geographic information production and distribution centre for the Établissement Géographique Interarmées and has worked on geographic data production for the French defence industry and for export. The group also supports space programmes, including space object detection and tracking, in-orbit calibration of optical instruments, and subcontracting for Sodern and ArianeGroup.
