Its products generate, apply, measure and monitor very fast electromagnetic pulses. Its core defence-related business is test systems for assessing equipment and critical infrastructure against high-power electromagnetic threats, including nuclear electromagnetic pulse (NEMP/HEMP), and conducted susceptibility testing to MIL-STD-461. Customers include private and governmental EMC test laboratories, R&D departments and industrial companies worldwide, supported by a network of distributors. The company also develops pulsed electric field technologies for industrial processes such as food processing, agriculture and medicine. Montena Technology was set up as a separate entity in 2011, and the company's EMC activities trace back to 1975 through EMC Fribourg SA.
