About
Founded in 1991, MZA is a defense software developer based in Albuquerque, United States working in weapons, optronics, simulation & training +1 more.
MZA Associates Corporation is a provider of research, development and analysis services for U.S. government directed energy weapons programs. Headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with an office in the Dayton, Ohio area and a machine shop in Houston, Texas, the company was incorporated in October 1991 to provide advanced simulation and analysis of adaptive optics systems for what is now the Air Force Research Laboratory. Its work covers wave-optics modeling, adaptive optics systems, beam control, atmospheric characterization, high energy laser engagement analysis and scientific data acquisition and management. MZA develops the WaveTrain wave-optics analysis tool and the tempus simulation executive, and has designed and prototyped the Othela line of lightweight tactical beam directors. The company has supported the Airborne Laser and Airborne Laser Test Bed programmes, the ABLEX and ABLE ACE atmospheric characterization experiments, and the HELLADS and HELMAS programmes. MZA also supports the Airborne Aero-Optics Laboratory project with Notre Dame and AFIT. Its affiliate, Active Optical Systems, manufactures low-cost adaptive optics hardware.
