OBRUM is a Polish research and development centre for mechanical equipment, operating as a limited liability company (sp. z o.o.) and a member of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ). Its origins trace back to the Experimental Production Plant at the ŁABĘDY Mechanical Works, and it became an independent state organisational unit in 1986 before transforming into a commercial company on 1 April 2008. It was incorporated into the BUMAR Group as a subsidiary in 2009, and PGZ S.A. currently holds 71.82% of its shares. Its main customers are the land forces of the Polish Armed Forces, including mechanised, armoured, radar and engineering units. The company develops products through the full cycle from concept to serial production. It also develops training systems and simulators, autonomy systems for unmanned ground vehicles, and UAV training systems, and provides equipment operation, maintenance and service support. OBRUM works with Polish and international defence industry partners, including a memorandum of understanding with Hyundai Rotem for a new assault bridge based on the K2 chassis.
