Platform Aerospace is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business specialising in unmanned aircraft systems and rapid aircraft modification. The company designs, fabricates, modifies, tests and operates aircraft from a campus in St. Mary's County, Maryland, and has a UK subsidiary based in Cambridge. Its flagship product is the Vanilla UAS, a Group 3 ultra-long endurance unmanned aircraft that holds a world endurance record and is configured for ISR, communications relay, electronic warfare and air-launched effects missions. Platform Aerospace is part of the U.S. Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering's Rapid Defense Experimentation Reserve program, where Vanilla completed its Technology Readiness Level 8 assessment at exercise VS24. The company is building a Training Center of Excellence in Blackstone, Virginia, for Vanilla operator training, and serves defense, federal and international government customers as well as commercial and research users.
