About

Founded in 1955, Rosborough Boats is a defense prime contractor based in Halifax, Canada working in naval systems.

Rosborough Boats is a Nova Scotia, Canada builder of semi-custom vessels from 6 to 10 metres for the professional marine community. Founded in 1955 by James D Rosborough as a builder of custom wooden sailing yachts, the company later moved into commercial fishing and cruising boats and now builds composite RHIBs and hard-shell craft. Its Rough Water and HammerHead lines are designed for enforcement, search and rescue, conservation and protection, science and hydrographic work, and naval and military operations. Rosborough creates semi-custom vessels for the Canadian Coast Guard, Fisheries Protection Division, several Canadian federal, provincial and municipal agencies, American state and municipal agencies, and private sector clients in Canada and the UK. Services include new vessel procurement and leasing, re-power and re-configuration, small vessel compliance support, and service and maintenance plans with mobile crews. The company is owned and operated by Bob and Heaton Rosborough, son and grandson of the founder. It also builds recreational boats, including the Wild Islands line of adventure boats.
