About
Founded in 2003, Roxel is a defense subsystem manufacturer based in Le Plessis-Robinson, France working in missiles & munitions, ammunition & energetics, counter-uas & air defense +1 more.
Roxel is a Franco-British group and a European leader in tactical solid rocket propulsion. Formed in February 2003 through the merger of the French company Celerg and the UK company Royal Ordnance Rocket Motors, it designs, develops, manufactures and sells solid propulsion systems and related equipment for rockets, tactical missiles and cruise missiles used by air, sea and ground forces. Its motors power a wide range of missile types, including air-to-air, surface-to-air, artillery, anti-ship, anti-tank, air-to-surface and cruise missiles, as well as guided bombs, decoys, targets and drones. Roxel covers the full lifecycle of its propulsion systems, from research and design through qualification, series production, in-service support and disposal. Its in-house capabilities include solid propellant formulation, motor casing production (metal, composite, hybrid and Kevlar overwound), inert materials, igniters and assembly and integration. The group operates test centres with horizontal, vertical, vacuum, centrifuge and other test benches, and is active in insensitive munitions technology. Roxel also works on research programmes including PERSEUS, HYDIS and the Franco-British CW-ITP, and contributes to civil aerospace applications such as thrust rods for the Airbus A380. The company became a wholly-owned subsidiary of MBDA in December 2024. It has four production sites in France and the United Kingdom.
