About
Founded in 1976, Semip Codechamp is a defense component supplier based in Champagnat, France working in radar & sensors, optronics, space +1 more.
Semip Codechamp is a French group that designs and manufactures high-precision position sensors, including optical encoders, potentiometers, magnetic encoders and Hall effect sensors. Its activities are headquartered across two sites: Codechamp in Champagnat and Semip in Argenteuil. The group supplies custom position sensors for defense, space, aerospace, nuclear and motorsport applications. Its history dates to 1976, when a potentiometer was integrated into the Mirage 2000 radar. From the 1980s it developed absolute encoders for satellites, and in the 1990s high-resolution optical encoders for scientific missions such as SOHO. Its products are used in space mechanisms, stabilised turrets, radars, electro-optical systems and missile seekers. The group reports more than 80 space missions and 700 flight models delivered. Its Codechamp unit holds NF EN 9100 certification and is qualified by European and French space agencies. Products are individually tested and delivered with a PVRI test record.
