TESAT is a defense subsystem manufacturer based in Backnang, Germany working in space, communications & satcom.

TESAT, operating as Tesat-Spacecom GmbH & Co. KG, is a German manufacturer of satellite communication equipment based in Backnang. It develops, produces and tests optical laser communication terminals, RF and microwave payloads, amplifiers, power supplies and printed circuit boards for space applications. Its product families include the SCOT optical terminals and the LCT135 geostationary terminal, which support data relay and multi-orbit connectivity. The company also runs a Parts Agency and EEE component centre offering component procurement, screening, up-screening, failure analysis and radiation testing for space and aerospace programmes. Its TESAT Government affiliate serves US government programmes, including optical terminals for a Lockheed Martin GPS demonstration and a partnership with Frontgrade Technologies for US security-restricted markets. TESAT is a subsidiary of Airbus and employs about 1,100 people at its Backnang site. Its quality system is certified to EN 9100 and it operates ISO 17025-accredited calibration and EEE laboratories.
