AndersARTiG

Founded in 1995, AndersARTiG is a non-profit network based in Potsdam, Germany working on lgbtq+, education, children & youth.

AndersARTiG is the umbrella association (Landesverband) for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, inter* and queer (LSBTIQ) communities in the German state of Brandenburg. Founded on 5 November 1995 in Cottbus, it is based in Potsdam and acts as a political advocate for queer interests at state, district and municipal level. It offers counselling on topics such as coming out, transition, relationships and discrimination, runs seminars, leisure and coming-out groups, and educational work for schools and multipliers. Much of its work is carried out by volunteers using a peer-to-peer approach. Its projects include the Bildung unterm Regenbogen education programme, the LesBI*Schwule T*our, and the Regenbogenkombinat queer venues in Potsdam and Cottbus. The association also works to counter discrimination and hostility within the LSBT community.
