Animal Angels

Founded in 2011, Animal Angels is a non-profit association based in Žalec, Slovenia working on animal welfare.

Animal Angels is a non-profit, volunteer-run animal protection association based in Slovenia, founded in May 2011 after growing out of a Facebook-based food collection for animals. It rescues stray and abused dogs and cats, arranges vaccination, sterilisation and castration, finds adoptive homes, and provides food, medicine and financial help to animal shelters and to socially disadvantaged people who keep pets but cannot care for them. The association also campaigns against cruelty to animals, reports irresponsible treatment of animals, and promotes veganism and the rights of all non-human animals. Its work extends beyond Slovenia, including animals in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is funded by voluntary donations, SMS donations, annual membership fees, and fundraising events and auctions. Members and donors can support the work through bank transfers, PayPal and donated goods.
