Animal Care Society Cork

Founded in 2000, Animal Care Society Cork is a charity based in Cork, Ireland working on animal welfare.

The Animal Care Society (ACS) is a registered charity founded in October 2000 to provide care for animals in Cork City and County that need help, within the limits of its funds and facilities. Operating mainly through volunteers, it runs a sanctuary, rescues and treats injured, neglected and abandoned animals, and rehomes them through fosterers and adoption, including transport of animals to rehoming organisations in the UK. The charity also operates a helpline, runs an emergency fund for animals injured on roads, and delivers animal welfare education in schools, colleges and libraries. It campaigns for updated animal welfare legislation in Ireland, and funds its work through donations, raffles, a charity shop in Togher, Cork, and merchandise such as calendars and cards.
