The Arbeitskreis Zwingenberger Synagoge e.V. is a non-profit association based in Zwingenberg an der Bergstraße, Hesse. Founded in June 1999, it works to preserve the former synagogue of the Zwingenberg Jewish community at Wiesenstraße 5 and to find a public use for the building. Its statutory aims include researching Jewish history in the Bergstraße district and southern Hesse, building a documentation collection of the former Jewish community, running cultural and educational events, and working against antisemitism and prejudice towards minorities. It runs guided town walks and cemetery tours, lectures, concerts, exhibitions and school project support, and publishes books and brochures on regional Jewish history and Nazi-era remembrance. The association is non-partisan and non-denominational, and has nearly 50 members, including the town of Zwingenberg, the Kreis Bergstraße and local churches. Its statutes are recognised as charitable and tax-exempt, and its assets would pass to the Jüdisches Museum Frankfurt on dissolution. The association's proposed use for the synagogue building is a museum on migration in southern Hesse.
