ArMut teilen
Salzburg, Austria
About
Founded in 2005, ArMut teilen is a faith-based organisation based in Salzburg, Austria working on poverty & hunger, children & youth.
ArMut teilen is a parish-based charitable initiative of the Archdiocese of Salzburg that provides direct financial emergency aid to low-income households in the city of Salzburg. Support is given through local initiatives in several parishes, where volunteers hold confidential conversations with people in need and decide on payments. Every donation is passed on in full, and administrative costs are covered by the Archdiocese. Besides cash aid, the initiative runs a Christmas gift programme for children from low-income families, distributes food and organises related fundraising events. Its work focuses on single parents, families with children and pensioners on minimum pensions. The initiative has operated since 2005, when its first distribution day took place at Mülln parish.
