Ärzte ohne Grenzen Österreich is the Austrian section of the international medical humanitarian organisation Médecins Sans Frontières. It is organised as an association and provides emergency medical and humanitarian aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and malnutrition in more than 70 countries. Its work includes medical care in crisis zones, mobile clinics, nutrition programmes, mental health support, and advocacy for access to humanitarian aid and affordable medicines. It is funded almost entirely by private donations from individuals and companies in Austria, which it states allow it to work independently of governments. Its head office is in Vienna.
