The Association des élus de la condition animale (AECA) is a French association under the 1901 law, registered as a non-profit. Founded in 2025, it brings together and supports local elected officials from all portfolios and municipal staff who want to act for animal welfare in their communes or intercommunal groupings. It aims to accelerate, expand and promote municipal action for animals by offering a resource centre, a peer support network, representation before national bodies, thematic online sessions and a newsletter. It prepared a questionnaire on animal protection positions for candidates in the 2026 Senate elections. Its work is cross-party and focused on the municipal level in France.
