The Association Hospitalière Sainte-Marie (AHSM) is a French non-profit association under the 1901 law, operating as a private non-profit (ESPIC) provider. It delivers psychiatric care, post-cure, and medico-social and social support for children, adolescents, adults and older people with mental illness, dependency or disability, across eight departments in the south-east of France. Its establishments include hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, day and residential facilities, addiction centres and an autism diagnostic centre. Through its training institutes (IFSI/IFAS and IFPS) it trains nursing, care-assistant and paramedical staff and provides continuing professional development. It also runs prevention and information programmes on mental health. Founded in 1827 from a congregation of the Sisters of Sainte-Marie de l'Assomption, the association became a non-profit association in 1974 and employs more than 5,600 professionals. It is a member of the FEHAP federation of private non-profit health and social providers.
