About

Founded in 1996, Bernhard-Heiliger-Stiftung is a foundation based in Berlin, Germany working on arts & culture, heritage.

The Bernhard-Heiliger-Stiftung is a public-benefit private-law foundation based in Berlin-Dahlem. It preserves and researches the work of the sculptor and painter Bernhard Heiliger (1915–1995), who was a leading figure of postwar German modernism. The foundation archives his sculptures, reliefs, drawings, assemblages, photographs and historical documents, and cares for them conservationally. It presents his work through exhibitions in the former artist's studio and garden at Kunsthaus Dahlem, lends works to external exhibitions, and runs a sculpture scholarship. It also digitises parts of its collection with public funding. The foundation is a member of the Bundesverband Deutscher Stiftungen and owns Atelierhaus Dahlem gGmbH, an exhibition house founded in 2013 that shows postwar German sculpture from East and West.
