BUA

Founded in 2014, BUA is a foundation based in Oslo, Norway working on children & youth, environment & climate.

BUA is a Norwegian non-profit foundation and national network of equipment lending schemes. It enables children and young people to try a wider range of sports and outdoor activities by lending sports and leisure equipment free of charge for up to one week, regardless of financial circumstances. Lending is organised through local departments across Norway, many of them run by local organisations under a franchise concept, with volunteers helping run opening hours, lending, and equipment maintenance. The organisation also supports municipalities and volunteer groups in setting up equipment lending, and emphasises sustainability through sharing and reuse. Its work is supported by corporate partners and sponsors.
