Bürgerstiftung Coesfeld is an independent, publicly beneficial civic foundation under private law based in Coesfeld, Germany. Founded in 2004 by 115 local citizens to strengthen voluntary and community work, it has grown through additional endowments to more than 1.2 million euros. The foundation runs its own projects, cooperates with partners and funds local initiatives. Its purposes include education, youth and public health, youth sport, arts and culture, and disaster and civil protection. It also manages a number of endowment funds (Stiftungsfonds) and trust foundations (Treuhandstiftungen) for donors, including the Michael-Endler-Stiftung and the Addy-Bosten-Stiftung, and publishes an annual Adventskalender to raise funds. The foundation is registered in the NRW foundation register and is governed by a board (Vorstand) and a supervisory foundation council (Stiftungsrat), with all members serving voluntarily. Its work centres on Coesfeld and especially the district of Lette.
