The Bürgerstiftung Kreis Ravensburg is a community foundation based in Ravensburg, Germany. It was founded in 2005 by Dr. Alexander Ivanovas, Ursula Löfflmann and the Kreissparkasse Ravensburg, and was recognised as a legal foundation under German civil law in December 2005. The foundation works for the people and communities of the Ravensburg district in the Allgäu-Oberschwaben region. Its work covers education, environment and sustainability, and social matters. It supports people in emergency situations through individual case aid, funds projects run by clubs, initiatives and other foundations, and runs its own projects. Examples include a free bicycle safety programme for primary schools, a pedal-rickshaw project for seniors, a sustainability platform and a community forest. It also manages a number of endowment funds and trust foundations under its roof, and supports a hospice through a wine-growing volunteer project. Funding comes from donations, endowments, corporate partners and legacies. Volunteers serve on its committees, the Stifterversammlung, Kuratorium and Vorstand, and on specialist committees.
