About
Cancer Connect is a charity based in Bantry, Ireland working on health.
Cancer Connect is a free, volunteer-driven transport service in County Cork that takes people on a cancer journey to hospital appointments, mainly radiotherapy, chemotherapy, consultations, scans and blood tests at Cork City hospitals. Passengers are collected from set stops or from home and brought to the hospital door, and drivers wait to bring them home. The service also offers a peer support environment for passengers. It is funded through voluntary donations, community fundraising, sponsorship and partial state funding, and relies on volunteer drivers who commit to one day per month where possible. The organisation is run by Cork Cancer Connect CLG, a registered charity.
