About
Founded in 1978, CancerRehabFonden is a charity based in Stockholm, Sweden working on health, mental health.
CancerRehabFonden is a Swedish non-profit organisation based in Stockholm that helps people who have had cancer return to everyday life through free, week-long rehabilitation programmes. The programmes include group conversations with a psychologist or therapist, physical activity, nutrition advice and methods for coping with anxiety and stress, and are delivered by partner rehabilitation providers. The organisation is funded entirely by private donations from individuals, companies and foundations, with no government grants. It also campaigns for public responsibility for cancer rehabilitation, arguing that regions should fund rehabilitation as part of publicly financed healthcare, since only a small share of rehabilitation participants report being offered rehabilitation by healthcare services. Other activities include a yearly CancerRehabRapporten report, a legacy and will-writing partnership with Jurio, and a membership offering for supporters. Founded in 1978 as Cancer- och Trafikskadades Riksförbund, it changed its name and focus to cancer rehabilitation in 2013.
