The Caritasverband für die Erzdiözese Bamberg e.V. is the diocesan Caritas association of the Archdiocese of Bamberg, the umbrella body for Catholic social charities in Upper Franconia and the northern half of Middle Franconia. It represents around 500 social services and facilities, which employ about 12,000 full-time staff, are supported by about 12,500 volunteers, and serve up to 220,000 clients. Its services span health, elderly care, child and youth welfare, disability support, migration and integration, addiction counselling, and pregnancy counselling. It also runs training institutions such as a social pedagogy academy, advises member services, manages financial aid funds for people in need, and advocates for disadvantaged groups in social and policy debates. The association is based in Bamberg, Germany, and is part of the Deutscher Caritasverband.
