The Centre for Youth and Social Development (CYSD) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded in 1982 and based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It works with tribal and rural poor communities in Odisha, aiming to improve their quality of life by addressing extreme poverty and hunger, helping distressed people access their entitlements, and strengthening community-based organisations. Its work covers sustainable rural livelihoods, inclusive education, disaster risk reduction and climate change action, and youth skilling. CYSD works directly with communities in remote districts such as Koraput, Malkanagiri, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj, and replicates its approaches statewide through partner organisations. It also conducts action research to inform pro-poor policies, supports community monitoring of government programmes, and has led disaster response and rehabilitation since the 1999 super cyclone.
