It combines fact-checking journalism, education and civic technology to counter disinformation and improve the quality of public debate. Its work spans media, education, innovation and product, and impact and new initiatives. It produces verification reports, runs media literacy projects for schools and journalists, develops AI-assisted verification tools, and coordinates LatamChequea, a regional network of fact-checkers in Latin America. Chequeado says it is independent and funded largely by its community of donors and members.
