CLCV

CLCV is a non-profit association based in Paris, France working on housing & homelessness, democracy & civil society.

CLCV is a French consumer association (loi 1901) that defends the interests of consumers and service users. This campaign page, run by CLCV, promotes rent control (encadrement des loyers) in French municipalities. It encourages residents to contact their mayor or deputy to press local officials to introduce rent caps, and it explains how the scheme works, including the reference rent set by prefectural decree and the reference rent plus 20% ceiling. At the time of the page, rent control applied only in Paris and Lille, with several other communes taking steps to introduce it.
