ClimbOut

ClimbOut is a community organisation based in London, United Kingdom working on lgbtq+, community development.

ClimbOut CIC is a non-profit Community Interest Company that runs the UK's first queer outdoor climbing festival. The festival combines trad climbing, sport climbing and bouldering with social events and talks, centring the experience of LGBTQ climbers. It is held at Thornbridge Outdoors Centre in Bakewell, Derbyshire, in the Peak District, and it also runs ClimbOut Scotland. The organisation aims to make outdoor climbing more accessible and affordable, to remove barriers for queer people, and to increase the visibility of queer outdoor climbers. It places particular emphasis on people with intersecting identities who face additional barriers within the queer community. ClimbOut is approved by Mountain Training to deliver Rock Skills courses, and it offers courses and workshops, including equipment provision and training.
