Comeback Shop Progressive
Praha 3, Czech Republic
About
Founded in 2017, Comeback Shop Progressive is a social enterprise based in Praha 3, Czech Republic working on addiction, employment & skills, environment & climate.
Comeback Shop Progressive is a second-hand charity shop in Prague 3 that sells donated clothing, household goods, books and other items at affordable prices. It was opened in 2017 and is operated by the social business Fixpunkt Social Business s.r.o., which is linked to Progressive o.p.s. All profits fund the shop's operations, mainly the wages of employees who are people with drug-use experience. The project aims to provide supported jobs and a safe environment that helps these people rebuild their finances, work skills and reintegrate into the open labour market. Items that are not sold are distributed to partner organisations, including the Progressive Contact Centre, a charity of the Congregation of the Merciful Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo, and foster carers. The shop also serves as a community venue for art exhibitions, workshops and author readings, and it promotes reuse and recycling of goods.
