About
Founded in 2019, Commonwealth 8.7 Network is a non-profit network based in New Delhi, India working on human rights, justice & legal aid.
The Commonwealth 8.7 Network is a global network of 122 local civil society organisations and individuals working to eradicate contemporary forms of slavery and human trafficking. It shares good practice, strengthens skills, supports survivors, and advocates for changes to laws and policies across Commonwealth countries. The network is coordinated by a Secretariat run by the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI), an independent, non-profit organisation working for the practical realisation of human rights. CHRI's offices in New Delhi, London and Accra focus on access to justice, access to information, and contemporary forms of slavery and human trafficking. Activities include evidence-based research, advocacy with Commonwealth states and at the United Nations, convenings and workshops, and publications on SDG target 8.7. The network is governed by a Management Committee with regional representatives.
