About
Founded in 1841, Communauté des Diaconesses de Reuilly is a faith-based organisation based in Versailles, France working on religion & faith, health, disability.
The Community of the Deaconesses of Reuilly is a Protestant religious community of monastic inspiration, rooted in the Reformation churches and open to ecumenical dialogue. It was founded in 1841 by Caroline Malvesin and Antoine Vermeil and is now run through the Fondation Diaconesses de Reuilly, which was recognised as being of public utility in 1860. The community's houses in Versailles, Le Moutier Saint-Voy (Haute-Loire) and other sites offer hospitality, retreats and hermitages to individuals and groups. The sisters also carry out diaconal work, including care and disability projects, notably in Bafut, Cameroon, and a presence at a hospital in Paris. Donations and legacies to the community are tax-exempt and fund the Foundation's projects.
