The CPTS du Bassin Carcassonnais is an association under the French 1901 law, created on 17 March 2021, that brings together health professionals of the Carcassonne basin in the Aude department. It is a community professional territorial health structure (communauté professionnelle territoriale de santé) that coordinates local healthcare actors to improve access to care, organise care pathways for patients, support health professionals, develop prevention actions and contribute to health crisis response. Its members include general practitioners, specialists, pharmacists, nurses, paramedics, hospitals, clinics, care homes and social actors, as well as patient representatives and local authorities. Its health project was validated in 2022 and is funded in partnership with the regional health agency and the local health insurance fund. The organisation runs community events and awareness campaigns, including on stroke, cardiovascular and sexual health, and ageing, and publishes a territorial magazine, CarcaSanté. It works for the population of the Carcassonne area.
