Csörögi Tanoda is an after-school learning centre (tanoda) in Csörög, Hungary, run by the Mahájána Alapítvány foundation. It supports school-age children from disadvantaged families, who have no school in the village and attend schools in surrounding settlements. Its work includes group and individual learning support, mentoring, tutoring, early school-readiness programmes for preschool children, parent forums and family outreach, community-building through camps and festivals, career guest talks, and help with secondary school applications. Crisis support, such as food and household items, is provided to families in need. The organisation is funded by individual donations, the personal income tax (1%) designation, corporate supporters and public tanoda funding, and relies on volunteers, including students, professionals and retirees. It works with around 26 families at present.
