CURAD

Founded in 2012, CURAD is a non-governmental organisation based in Namanve, Uganda working on employment & skills, children & youth, gender equality +1 more.

CURAD is a non-profit company limited by guarantee based in Uganda and established in 2012 by Makerere University, NUCAFE and NARO, with support from DANIDA under the FARA-UniBRAIN Programme. It operates as a public-private partnership agribusiness incubator that supports farmers, farmer organisations, agro-entrepreneurs, students, graduates, start-ups and SMEs, with a focus on youth and women. Its services include enterprise selection, incubation, mentorship, technical training, access to finance, formalisation support and market linkages. CURAD runs incubation hubs in Namanve, Kapeeka, Kabanyolo and other locations across Uganda, with specialised centres for coffee, fruit and vegetables, oilseeds, meat and dairy. It also offers internships to students and fresh graduates and implements the NSSF Hi-Innovator Program and the SAYE project. Its stated aim is to create agribusiness leaders and jobs, and to raise productivity and profitability in agriculture.
