It is a member of the Diakonisches Werk Berlin-Brandenburg-schlesische Oberlausitz and, through it, of the Diakonisches Werk der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland. Its statutes state that it pursues exclusively charitable, benevolent and church purposes, including the promotion of youth and elderly care, education, social welfare and the Protestant church.
