About
Founded in 1994, Divadlo Archa is a non-profit organisation based in Praha 1, Czech Republic working on arts & culture, education.
Divadlo Archa is a Prague-based public benefit company (o.p.s.) running a multifunctional theatre and cultural venue for contemporary stage art across genres. It operates as a production house, providing space and support to artists through co-productions and residencies rather than maintaining a permanent ensemble. Its programme combines its own projects with works by Czech and international artists. The theatre runs the AKCENT festival of documentary theatre, an international summer school, the Centre of Documentary and Social-Specific Theatre, and projects aimed at young audiences, particularly teenagers and young adults aged roughly 15 to 28. It also rents its spaces and technical equipment for events. Founded in 1994, the theatre is a member of IETM, the international network for contemporary performing arts.
