Founded in 1992 and operating as a public-benefit organisation since 1998 from the Civil Community House in Eger, it is mainly made up of pensioners who pay membership fees. Its stated aims are to strengthen the social recognition of older people, keep members informed, and support their health, education and awareness through lectures, cultural groups, excursions and social events. The organisation also works with local clubs, senior care institutions, civil bodies and the city administration in Eger and Heves county, and takes part in regional and national events. It holds regular monthly meetings and publishes public-benefit reports and documents.
