Ustanova Dr. Šiftarjeva fundacija is a non-profit foundation in Petanjci, Tišina municipality, Slovenia, that manages the Vrt spominov in tovarištva (Garden of Remembrance and Comradeship), a protected cultural monument. Founded on the initiative of Dr. Vanek Šiftar, the garden was begun by his mother Apolonija, who planted two weeping willows in memory of her sons killed during the Second World War. The garden holds several hundred trees and shrubs from across Europe and other continents, many with symbolic links to the war, along with sculptures and historical objects donated by former anti-fascist fighters, organisations and individuals. The foundation hosts exhibitions, cultural and scientific events, and guided visits by appointment, and houses a research station of ZRC SAZU. The garden is open to the public daily from March to November, 8:00 to 18:00, with free admission. It also promotes the history of the Mura river area and the Prekmurje region.
